Creating My website : Home Page

I opened Wix and I chose a template for my subject area, Architecture. This template's minimalism and one picture made it interesting to me.

I then edited the text on the homepage by double clicking on it and selecting "edit text," changing the font to Monotype Baskerville and reducing the font size for my name in the dialogue box that appeared.

I added text by clicking the plus sign at the top of the left-hand menu, choosing Text, and then selecting "Heading." I then used the move tool to position the text box, double-clicked to write on it, and changed the font to match my name for the homepage title.

I also changed the initials to my name and placed them together.

I then found an image on Pixabay, clicked on it on my homepage, selected "manage media," and the dialogue box seen below appeared. I then choose upload from my Personal Computer after clicking the blue "Add Media" button on the box.

After changing the picture, I loved how it looked so I clicked "Preview" to see what it will look like.

I then decided to update the navigation menu, so I clicked on the third icon from the top on the left-side menu and chose Pages. I then erased all the pages I did not need until I was left with the Home, Portfolio, About, and Contact pages, which are the four pages I actually required. I then made sure that all of my changes were successfully saved by clicking "Save" in the upper right corner. I then evaluated the site to make sure all the pages were proper and that the design was starting to take shape as I had imagined.

I then clicked on the text in the footer to update my copyright to my own and the correct year. I made sure it displayed on every page after that and saved it to make sure my copyright was always visible.

This is how my final design appears in preview.

I'm incredibly pleased with this design. The design seems appropriate on the website, and I believe the  colors work nicely together. Even if it still needs improvement, the image has impact, and this is a wonderful beginning for my website.
