Initial Research

In this term, my set project idea is designing a beach resort so, I will be researching on this topic over here to innovate more ideas and try to improvise some ideas I had earlier.

The most important factor to design a resort is finding a proper site where there is a lot of tourist attraction. I have already thought of the place and it is connected to Bay of Bengal which is a ocean. The place is known as St. Martin Island situated in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh and it is the only coral reef island also known as 'Coconut Island'. The only way to go to this island is to board on a ship from the mainland city and enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way.

For tourist attractions, resort design is essential since it involves developing plans for the site's development and visitor convenience. For planning and design to be successful, factors like site location, environmental conditions, building materials, and facilities are crucial. In order to draw people to these recreational areas, resorts need to combine attractive designs, sturdy construction, and user-friendly amenities.

When I did my research on the fundamental components of a resort's initial design. It starts with site planning, highlighting the importance of learning about and examining every element of the place, such as geography, terrain, lakes, beaches, and mountains. The resort's design must take into account social and economic factors while preserving the environment. Environmental issues are also covered, including disposal of waste and protecting the local ecology and animals.

The selection of building materials, such as bamboo, stone, or wood, is essential for adjusting the exterior of the resort to the local environment. For comfort, ventilation through courtyard and porch designs is considered. The ultimate objective of the resort is to offer a relaxing, natural getaway. Therefore, aesthetics are important, and the design must complement the environment naturally while promoting sustainability and preserving the site's natural features.

To ensure mobility and safety, the plan also includes quick access points and emergency escape routes. The resort should be reasonably connected to its surroundings for simple accessibility and with several routes to the location for emergency evacuation. In order to facilitate mobility, the plan ought to have a variety of access and departure points.

I will be researching more while doing this project and keep updating.

  1. Choose which of those research elements that you have included on your milanote are the most appropriate to this project and create individual posts on them linking them to your project idea in terms of:
    location
    consumer use and accessibility
    use of materials
