Welcome back to the Summer Term!

Welcome back to the new term with a new beginning. Last term, I learnt a lot of new skills and techniques that will be useful for my progression route. This term, I want to learn more about the new software's and their necessary skills that is going to be helpful for me in the future. I was not able to finish some of my assigned works on time as I could not manage my time well and this term I will try to focus on that.

From last term project feedback, I hope to improve on posting blogs on time and improve my drawing and software skills. Moreover, this term is more focused on 3D outcomes and also some 2D outcome similar to last term. For 2D3D module, I had used a lot of materials and mediums to make 3D outcome and some of them turned out really good. Although I have some skills which I learned already but I hope to learn more skills during this term to make my set project good. I think that the most important skill to make 3D outcomes is to design the initial idea and try to initiate the whole project based on that idea.

During the break, I spent a lot of time at home so, I was looking onto some articles related to architecture and also watched movies. The most interesting thing I found was Shenzhen Guangming Scientist Valley which is situated in Shenzhen, China.

Shenzhen Guangming Scientist Valley

I am intrigued by the ambitious aims of this project. It is very amazing the concept of building a facility that encourages study and innovation while collectively involving the public. The innovation centre benefits ecologically from its best location, which is surrounded by mountains, woods, and bodies of water. The idea of the "Scientific Forest" highlights even more how nature has been included into the development. The "Valley of Coexistence," the winning design concept, focuses historical restoration and selected construction to ensure a harmonious coexistence with the environment. A public loop, research facility, and natural perimeter layer are included, ensuring a diverse and broad experience. In order to achieve harmonious cohabitation in the valley, "1001 Forest Gardens" promotes collaboration between scientists and the general public.

Moreover, I also noticed that the design of the project is similar to the landscape designs and the way it creates a balance between its surrounding is worth appreciating. In addition to that, they have also tried to keep the nature unharmed which shows how determined they want to interact with the public in the nature.

I am starting this term with a resolution that I want to achieve good results by working more and finish everything on time.
