Location Research : Zainul Art Museum

For the major project, I chose Dhaka, Bangladesh as the location but I was looking into brownfields to design my project. I thought Purbachal would be the best place for it as the whole place was full of buildings earlier but now, it is being fully developed.

The capital of Bangladesh and most populated city is Dhaka. It serves as Bangladesh's political, economic, and cultural hub. Therefore, Dhaka is where majority of Bangladesh's population resides. In Dhaka, a big number of individuals must reside for a variety of reasons, including work and other obligations. Dhaka becomes congested as a result. The majority of Dhaka's residential neighbourhoods are congested. Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) has developed a solution. It has successfully planned, developed, and carried out several commercial, industrial, and development projects in the past. For the first time, RAJUK planned Purbachal New Town Project, a self-sustaining township.

With the river Balu to the west and the river Sitalakhya to the east, the Purbachal Project is situated in the Rupganj Upazila of the Narayangonj district with the remainder of it in the Kaliganj Upazila of the Gazipur district. From Dhaka's zero point, it is 16 KM distant. 6227 acres cover the whole region.
