Software Skills Development 2 : SketchUp

In the second session of the workshop, I designed a garden shed as instructed by the tutor.

I used the rectangle tool to make a rectangle and the dimensions are given below;

10 m * 10 m -100 sq.m

Then, I drew a line of 2300mm using the line tool.

Here, I used the rectangle tool on that line and stressed it from the two points and made a rectangle of 2900mm.

In that rectangle, I drew a door of the dimensions; 2000mm*900 mm door.

Here, I used the Offset tool from one edge of the door without any measurements.

Then, I erased the below line of the door.

From the mid-point of the rectangle. draw a line and joined the two points from that line to make a triangle which will be an apex roof.

I copy-pasted by selecting that side of that shed and placed it on another place.

Here, I again drew line and then use rectangle tool - 4500mm

I moved the other side and placed it on the floor rectangle which I built alongside the other using the rectangle tool. Again, I drew line from the midpoint of the rectangle wall and then join them to the two points of the both wall and that makes a side of apex roof.

I drew lines on every corner to join the both sides of the shed.

Then, I used rectangle tool to build the walls.

Again, I used rectangle tool to build the apex roof.

Once again, I used rectangle tool and use offset tool from a edge and copy and paste it another to have two windows.

Here, I clicked on the component tools and used woods on the the walls and concrete on the apex roof.

I erased the the inside the door to have a better view of the interior of the shed.

I used the glass on the windows.

  1. It looks as if your skills with this software are slowly improving, but there is still little evidence of your project on your blog. I have seen some sketchy drawings in the studio, but nothing that suggests your final outcomes or development drawings. This needs attention as soon as possible.
